failing health.

Long-time Hollister resident Tony A. Lucas died at the age of 92 Monday, July 7, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital after a long period of failing health.

Although he was originally from Spain, Lucas lived in Hollister for 79 years. He was married for 64.

Lucas was a local farmer for 70 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and traveler and was a member of the U.B.E. Lodge f Hollister.

He was preceded in death by his brother Philip Celador and sisters Rosa Arbura and Teresa Recalde. He is survived by his wife Bessie B. Lucas of Hollister; and children Thomas A. Lucas and Alice M. Borello, both of Hollister. Lucas is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory.

Contributions are preferred to the Parkinson’s Association or to the Tres Pinos Alter Society in care of the funeral home.
