Tony Busch died of intestinal cancer May 9, 2004 in Hamilton, New York. He leaves his wife, Jill, brother, Peter, son, Philip, and his family. Tony was a graduate of the 1954 class of SBCHS and went on to Stanford University (B.A. and master’s). He received his doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley. He had been a professor of history at Colgate University. Tony was the author of numerous books on the politics of the Persian Gulf, Asia and a number of books about seafaring and the fur trade.
