Anzar junior Crystal Prado recorded a 14-09 3/4 in the long jump event at the Central Coast Section Semifinals in Gilroy last Saturday, and fell short of qualifying to the CCS Finals as a result.

Prado, who was the lone representative of Anzar at last Saturday’s CCS Semifinals, fell short of her seed jump of 15-01 1/2, which she recorded at the Mission Trail Athletic League Championships two weeks ago to finish runner-up.

Only the top eight in the long jump advanced to Friday’s CCS Finals, which will be held at the Garcia-Elder Sports Complex in Gilroy. Eighth place went to Kristen Sato of Valley Christian, who was the last to make the cut with a jump of 16-10 1/2.
