The San Benito High track and field team defeated visiting North Salinas on Wednesday in the final regular-season dual meet at Andy Hardin Stadium in Hollister.

The Baler boys defeated the Vikings by a comfortable 124-12 margin, while the junior varsity squad did the same by a 76-48 score.

The Lady Balers, meanwhile, downed the visiting Vikes 79-63.

With the Tri-County Athletic League Trials scheduled to get under way on Tuesday, both boys coach Iran White and girls coach Laurie Cottrell said their main goal on Wednesday was to keep everyone healthy for next week’s meet, which is scheduled for North Salinas High at 1:30 p.m.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, Wednesday’s meet against North High was bumped up one day as the Vikings are slated to also compete in Friday’s Salinas City Championships.
