A trial date has been set for the woman accused of shooting and killing her 19-month-old child last November.

Cheryl L. Busch was in San Benito County court today for a trial setting hearing and Judge Steven Sanders scheduled a trial date beginning at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 15. Public Defender Greg LaForge said he thinks the trial will last an estimated five to seven days.

Busch is suspected of shooting her 19-month-old daughter with .357 Magnum at her residence off of Shore Road in November 2008.

The suspect is charged with homicide and faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.

Prior to the Feb. 15 trial date, Busch is scheduled to be back in court for a pre-trial hearing Jan. 14 and for a trial confirmation hearing Feb. 4.

Both dates are scheduled for 9 a.m. at the San Benito County courthouse in room 101 and will be presided over by Sanders.
