Trinidad Garcia Castellano passed away peacefully in her home on December 1, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Barrancos, Chihuahua, Mexico, on May 12, 1912. Loved and respected by her loving children Dominga (Robert) Valdez, Alcario (Carmen) Castellano, David (Mary) Castellano and Mary Castellano. Preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Juanita Garcia, husband Cirilo Castellano, and son and daughter-in-law, Ismael and Lorraine Castellano. She will be missed by her cherished grandchildren Alfredo Jaurique, Julie Moreno, Maria West, Carmela Castellano-Garcia, Armando Castellano, Leonard Castellano, Lauralee Castellano, Michael Castellano, Ismael Castellano, Paul Castellano, David Castellano, and Lisa De La Cruz, and her fifteen great grandchildren.

She worked as a field laborer, cannery worker, housekeeper at the University of Santa Clara, and as a caregiver. She was involved in Latino activities as a member of St. Clare’s Parish in Santa Clara.

She was a feisty lady who will be remembered for her deep love of family, as an advocate for equality, for her love of God, and for her wonderful cooking and gardening skills.

Vigil, Sunday 12/10/06 at 7 PM ( visitation 5-9 PM ) at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Mass service, Monday 12/11/06 at 9:30 AM at St. Clare Church, 941 Lexington St. in Santa Clara. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hollister.
