Police arrested three suspects – two from Hollister – who were involved in a robbery at the Bank of America in Gilroy.
Kristopher Sosa, 29, and Cecilia Rodriguez, 28, of Hollister, and Marina Martinez, 24, of Morgan Hill, were arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday after police responded to a reported armed robbery at the bank’s ATM after the business was closed. Using the victims’ description of the suspects’ vehicle, a white GMC Envoy traveling southbound on Monterey Road, police located the vehicle and arrested the suspects, police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that, armed with a handgun, Sosa stole an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry from several patrons of Bank of America, 7825 Monterey Road. The two female suspects were in the vehicle with Sosa, and drove him to and from the crime scene. Their involvement in the robbery is under investigation, police said.
Police recovered the handgun and stolen property upon arresting the suspects. Witnesses reported that Sosa yelled gang-related words during the robbery, police said.
The three suspects were booked on suspicion of armed robbery and possession of a loaded firearm, police said. Police believe the crime to be gang-related and Gilroy’s Anti-Crime Team is investigating.
