Two Hollister men stabbed by a pair of assailants Monday are recovering from their wounds, Gilroy police reported.
Police responded to an unknown disturbance call shortly after 4:23 p.m. Monday and found victims, ages 22 and 32, suffering from serious injuries. One victim was stabbed in the back and the other in the head, according to GPD Sgt. Pedro Espinoza. The men were taken by helicopter to a trauma center and are expected to survive, he said.
Investigators believe the victims and their attackers argued before the assault, according to Espinoza. The stabbing was not gang-motivated, he added.
Witnesses told police the suspects fled in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.
Despite a search by multiple officers, police did not locate the suspects.
One suspect was described as a white male, 180 pounds, 5 feet 10 inches and between the ages of 20 and 25; the other as a 6-foot-tall Hispanic man between the ages of 30 and 40.
As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made, GPD Capt. Joseph Deras said.
