Victims airlifted

A San Jose man and Campbell woman were killed in a Saturday morning accident on Highway 152 west of Lover’s Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at 9:45 a.m. and involved two cars. Four of five occupants sustained major injuries in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, while two of three people in a 2005 Chevrolet Cruze passed away.
The two fatality victims included at 53-year-old San Jose man and a 65-year-old Campbell woman who were not immediately identified. A 54-year-old San Jose woman was a passenger in the Chevy Cruze and survived, but with major injuries, according to the CHP.The occupants in the Chevy Malibu were ages 18-21 with residences listed as Merced and Sylmar, while the status of injury victims was unknown.
According to the CHP:
A 20-year-old Sylmar woman was westbound in the Malibu, and the 53-year-old San Jose man was eastbound when the head-on collision occurred. Alcohol or drug impairment is not suspected as a cause of this collision.
