Beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and best friend.
Vera was born in Santa Paula, CA, moved to San Juan Bautista, CA and then to Morgan Hill, CA where she lived for 58 years with her husband, John, of 62 years. She is survived by her husband, John Ponce; sons, John Ponce Jr. (Natashia), Gary Ponce (Lisa), James Ponce (Kim); daughters, Diane Ponce, Kathy Ponce (Robert), Luanna Ponce-Ide (Vince), and Yvette Ventura Ponce; grandchildren, Jeremiah Ponce, Paul Ponce, Lalani Ponce, Stephanie Ponce, Jacklyn Ponce, Sara Ponce, Sherri Ornelas, Michael Mercado, Stephen Mercado, Geneva Salgado, Steve Lammers II, Darrol Decker, Justin Ide, Mercedes Ventura and Paris Ventura. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
She loved her family, her home, her garden, vacation home in San Felipe, MX. and camping on the beach at Pismo. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
Vigil service will be on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at 7:00 P.M. at St. Catherine Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 10:00 A.M., also at the church. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Morgan Hill. Reception to follow.
