The Gavilan College women’s volleyball team unsealed Coast Conference South play with a little bit of history in Los Altos Hills on Tuesday night.

The Rams (10-7 overall, 1-0 conference) defeated Foothill College 25-15, 25-22, 25-21 – the first victory over the Owls in program history.

Foothill, which has at least a share of the Coast Conference North crown in each of the last seven seasons, moved into the South this season as part of a routine conference shuffle.

Freshman Sabina Gerard facilitated Rams hitters with 36 assists. Her deliveries led to a team-high 13 kills from Kayce Skocko and 11 kills by Eva Latu.

In the back, Kayondra Hood picked up 23 digs. At the net, Andreinna Castaneda got up for five blocks.

The Rams continue South action Friday night as they host Ohlone College (1-0 conference). First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m.
