Mission Trail Athletic League on Thursday with a four-set victory
(25-20, 18-25, 25-18, 25-16) against Stevenson.

Alex Flores had 17 assists and 12 kills, Sydnee Masuen added 16 assists, and the Anzar girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the Mission Trail Athletic League on Thursday with a four-set victory (25-20, 18-25, 25-18, 25-16) against Stevenson.

The Hawks are now 6-2 overall.

Anzar dropped the second set to Stevenson, which managed to knot the match 1-1 at that point. But the Hawks took the third and fourth sets rather comfortably to win its second straight match.

Flores added six digs, three aces and a pair of blocks to go along with her double-digit totals in assists and kills, while Carly Johnson led the team in digs with 17. Jessica Frusetta added 12 digs for the Hawks as well, while Jessica Stofer had nine kills and Camille Merz added eight.

Anzar is back on the road on Tuesday when it will visit King City. Match time is 6 p.m.
