The Anzar girls volleyball team rebounded from a pair of five-set losses last week to defeat host Gonzales in four sets (25-23, 13-25, 25-20, 25-17) on Tuesday night in Mission Trail Athletic League action.

The win puts the Hawks above .500 at 3-2 in the MTAL, 7-4 overall.

Alex Flores led Anzar with 19 kills, 13 digs, 17 assists and 1.5 blocks, while Sydnee Masuen had 27 assists, 11 digs and four aces. Brittany Hogeman had 18 kills, Carly Johnson had 19 digs, and Jessica Stofer had five aces.

The Hawks return home Thursday for a league match with Soledad. Match time is 6 p.m.
