Born to Lloyd and Amy Thomas in Guymon, OK, she and her twin brother, Wade, were the 2nd and 3rd of eleven children.

In 1951 she eloped with Ray Boland. Together they had three children, Susie, Lori and Ronnie, and lived in Texas. Widowed in 1962, Wanda moved to California. There she met and married her sister-in-law’s neighbor, Bill Lewis, a widower with 2 children of his own, Lenord and Bernetta. With their own version of “The Brady Bunch”, Bill and Wanda passed their days with basketball, ballet, camping and boating. After moving around the West Coast, Wanda was widowed again in 1989 and moved back to California permanently. She spent the last eighteen years of her life traveling and golfing with her many friends. Wanda was an active resident of Hacienda Valley Mobile Estates in Morgan Hill. Wanda was an incredibly strong woman, but ovarian cancer ultimately took her from us. She is survived by all of her children, Sue Honesto (Edward) of San Martin; Lanora Boland of San Jose; Lenord Lewis (Celeste) of Van Buren, Arkansas; Ron Lewis (Cindy) of Hawaii; and Bernetta Lewis, eight of her loving siblings, 6 grandchildren, including Gabe Honesto of San Diego; Jake Honesto of San Francisco; and Jenise Honesto Thompson (Matthew) of Arlington, VA, and one great-grandson. Her family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to all the friends and family who gave endless love, support and care to her during her 2 year battle with cancer.

Interment will be private. Public memorial to be held Saturday, April 28, 2007, at 11 am at Culinary Express Courtyard and Gardens, 380 West Dunne Ave, Morgan Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wanda’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
