Editor,

Reading that options are continuing to be studied as to what to do with city wastewater is frustrating especially since the October 2005 deadline on this issue will not be kept by the city. Treating the wastewater and recycling for farm land use seems the logical way to go given all the agriculture we have in our county. There may be a storage issue here, but the MBR filtrate system design to make this happen is 90 percent complete.

I say finish the design, and sell the water back to the farmers for irrigation use. We need this decision with the RWQCB made so progress on this all-important issue can happen. Who knows, once the Hwy. 25 bypass goes through and we beautify our downtown we may want our own Bellagio-type fountain using this recycled water.
