You’re on the right path for the arts center for local talent in October. Yet we have jut spent about $3 million on the Legion building. It seems like you would want to attract more well-known artists to come there.
I went to see Jane Powell in the 60’s at the old Warner’s Theatre and a well-known Spanish guitarist. I saw Pat and Debbie Boone at a small theatre in Fresno. She sang “You light up my life.” You have the building large enough for that now. When we can bring this type of wholesome entertainment to Hollister then you will draw the tourists. For now, this will have to do. There are other priorities that are more important such as keeping the city in the black and fixing the sewer.
