Dear Editor:
Heartfelt thanks to the American Legion San Benito Post 69. What a wonderful event they had on Saturday honoring the veterans, with special acknowledgments to the World War II veterans.
It stirred the emotions of every person present watching the national dedication of the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. Our freedom and the freedom of our country was bought at enormous price. These veterans we honored, and those who lost their lives, gave all so that we could enjoy what we have today.
Freedom is costly!
We need to show appreciation to our veterans daily. The veterans services provided with the money allocated by San Benito County are essential to our veterans. We must not allow their funding to be cut.
Thank a veteran you know today. Thanks again, Post 69. Outstanding job.
