I wanted to commend Sarah Al-Ahmed and the Free Lance for the
great story she wrote in your paper on the Middle East. It is
bright young people like Sarah who will eventually lead the world
to peace by bringing cultures together. Sarah’s experiences in the
United Arab Emirates and the city of Dubai show us how different
cultures can live together peacefully.

On my visit to Dubai and Afghanistan last year, I was startled to see luxurious malls packed with teenagers doing the same things young people around the world do – hang out and enjoy each other’s company. The only difference was some teenagers were wearing Burkas with platform tennis shoes while others were wearing hip-huggers with platform tennis shoes!
Sarah should thank her parents for giving her a gift of a lifetime by allowing her to visit Dubai and we should thank her parents for giving us a future leader with the worldly knowledge of Sarah!
