As a Director of Hollister Rainbow Children’s Theatre, I am
confused. Two weeks ago, we were asked to sign a new contract.
Contracts are signed in July. We have not had a contract for eight
months. I was told about Robert Ornelas’ decision to eliminate
parts of our program for

Snow White,

our current show. I commented that this sounded personal and
Tina Garza stated,

With him, yes, but not with me.

As a Director of Hollister Rainbow Children’s Theatre, I am confused. Two weeks ago, we were asked to sign a new contract. Contracts are signed in July. We have not had a contract for eight months. I was told about Robert Ornelas’ decision to eliminate parts of our program for “Snow White,” our current show. I commented that this sounded personal and Tina Garza stated, “With him, yes, but not with me.”

Now we received a new revised contract stating that our program is being terminated after the final performance April 3. Are we being terminated? Fired? We want to know!

Why? What’s the reason? Are Robert Ornelas and the City of Hollister retaliating against Rainbow Children’s Theatre, because Jeannette Miller won’t allow herself or her children to be touched inappropriately by Robert Ornelas?

A few months ago, Mr. Ornelas spoke with great praise about Rainbow Theatre and its benefits to the community at a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. It’s about building our children! Its about our kids!

Hollister Rainbow Children’s Theatre was established two and a half years ago. We have had over 800 of our children and over 1,600 volunteers putting in not hundreds, not thousands, but tens of thousands of volunteer hours! Over 15,000 people have attended our productions – most of them children. Every child gets a part! Every child is special!

Rainbow Children’s Theatre is the community’s program.

It is not a burden on the city. We have brought in over $40,000 dollars in revenue – 10 percent of all recreation programs! WOW!

Rainbow Children’s Theatre is produced, directed, performed, choreographed and crewed by children for children.

Our program makes money for the city!

Our children are growing, learning and thriving!

Our program gives college scholarships to high school seniors who have participated in our program!

Our parents are involved!

WE are what makes a community!

Hollister
