Editor,
So, if the editors of the Christian Science Monitor point the finger of blame for infrastructure collapse at the voters and citizens to condone their elected officials’ conduct, then what about the Grand Jury indicting transit agencies for gross mismanagement, governance flaws and fiscal abuse of taxpayers, as we saw with VTA?
And what about my asking COG and AMBAG why the Grand Jury indictment should not also apply to them because they are guilty of the same conduct?
And what about the press not reporting it?
And how can they get away with stone-walling the Grand Jury? How can they get away with ignoring my letters, even after I’ve been to all of their regular, and most of the special, COG meetings in the past three years? Why hasn’t that been reported?
Is the problem apathetic citizens? Or is it apathetic reporting?
Finally, why do we tolerate our leaders threatening to silence dissent at COG’s public meetings, and not report about it even when you had a reporter present at that meeting? The apathetic may not care, but some citizens do care.
