William A. Underwood passed away in Hollister at the age of 89.
He was born in Paicines, CA and lived in San Benito County all of his life.
He married his wife, Mary Anna, in 1944 in Hollister, served his country honorably during WWII in the US Navy, was a 60 year member of the American Legion, a member of SIRS and a past member of Mound Lodge #166 IOOF.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anna Underwood of Hollister, his daughter and son and their spouses, Kathleen and David Bellina of Oakdale and Bill and Jennifer Underwood of Hollister, his sister, Ann Willliams of Paicines and his grandchildren, Lainie Mangano, Brian Underwood, Steven Underwood, Alan Underwood, Shelane Dormandy and Mary Finney and his seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family, Debbie and Bob Gansberger of San Juan Bautista, Diane Francis of Hollister and Dave Langdoc of Santa Barbara.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Pennington of The First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Friends are invited to attend.
Cremation will be followed by private family inurnment.
