Beloved husband and father, William Arthur Curchill, 75, died November 18, 2009 in Carson City, NV, of complications from diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.

He was born June 24, 1934 to Kenneth M. and Martha H. (Morrison) Churchill in Oakland, CA. He celebrated 54 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Carolynn, whom he met while attending UC Berkeley, wehere he obtained a degree in Architecture.

Bill was a talented, award-winning Bay Area architect, heading firms in San Jose, Portola Valley, Half Moon Bay and Lake Tahoe, designing custom residential homes.

He and his wife had California homes in San Jose, Portola Valley, Monterey, Palm Desert abd Half Moon Bay, finally settling in Zephyr Cove, NV to be near their eldest child.

Bill and Carol were world travelers throughout their marriage, making life-long friends along the way. He liked the share humorous stories og their travels with family and friends and his laugh was infectious.

Bill had memberships in the South San Jose Kiwanis and the Half Moon Bay Rotary. He served on the Planning Commission in Portola Valley. His father, Ken was a charter member of Spyglass Golf Course in Pebble Beach, CA and after his death in 1980, Bill held the membership.

Bill is survived by his wife Carolynn (Nelson) Churchill, daughters Catherine Collins of Minden, NV, Leslie Granneman of Goleta, CA, son Christopher Churchill of Las Cruces, NM, brothers James Churchill of Cedaredge, CO and John Churchill of Anchorage, AK, seieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Autumn Funerals & Cremations in Carson City, NV is in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life for family and friends is being planned for next June.

The family requests that donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
