William “Willy” Dale Martinez passed away suddenly at the age of 56 years old surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 19, 1955, Cantua Creek, CA to Manuel and Vivian Martinez.

He grew up in Hollister. He was a roofer for many years and then later in life became a truck driver. His hobbies were rock collecting, barbequing and Sunday football. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and most of all being a good family man. He was known for being an extremely hard worker, making people happy and helping others. His philosophy in life was to always care for others. His generosity was known by all. He will always be remembered by having a “big heart.”

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sherrill Martinez. He is survived by his soul mate Kimberly Wilson of 16 years. He is survived by his three children, Desirey Viramontes (Ben Viramontes, son-in-law), Justin Martinez, and R. Destiny Martinez, and his three grandchildren Benjamin Viarmontes III, Bobby Viramontes, and Ricky Viramontes. William was survived by his siblings Manuel Martinez, Jr., Raul Martinez, Peter Martinez, Sherman Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Paulynne Martinez, Elizabeth Chenet, Jackie Skarmas, and Carolynne Woods.

Memorial services will be held November 18, 2011, at 1:00 P.M.at Black-Cooper-Sander Funeral Home located at 363 Seventh St. Hollister, CA 95023.

A celebration of William’s life will be after the memorial services with a “potluck” luncheon. The location will be announced after the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help with the memorial.
