William H. (Bill) Lasseter passed away in Hollister. He was born in Sanger, CA and moved to Hollister when he was 2 years old and lived here all of his life. He married his wife Barbara in 1953 in Carmel. He worked for Black Cooper Furniture and Mortuary for many years and Lyle Cooper was his friend and mentor. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bolado Park Men’s Club, Hollister Elks, Eagles, SIRS and was a member of The Knights of Columbus and was a past grand knight. He also was a big supporter of Special Olympics and youth sports. He and Barbara liked to travel and take cruises which included trips to Hawaii and Europe.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lasseter of Hollister, his daughter and her husband, Ginger and John Mendez of Hollister and his son, Bill Lasseter, Jr. of Portland, OR, his brothers and sister; Laurence Lasseter of Seattle, WA, John Lasseter of Sunnyvale and Etta Rosamond of Lebanon, OR, his grandchildren, Justin Mendez, Matthew Mendez and Mark Mendez and his great-grandchildren, Dante Mendez and Lena Mendez. He is preceded in death by his brother and sister, Earnest Lasseter and Maria Diaz.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church in Hollister. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
