William Turner died Friday, Oct. 24 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. He was 58.

He was born in Los Banos and lived in Hollister for 20 years.

He loved to go fishing, drive his RC cars and watch NASCAR on television with his sons.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Simas and step-father Joe. P. Simas, and sister Rosalie Souza.

He is survived by his wife Emily Turner of Hollister; sons Robert Turner and Terry Turner, both of Hollister, William N. Turner III, and Richard Turner, both of Merced; daughter Loretta of Merced; sister Joanne Palomino of Los Banos; and grandson Andrew Turner of Salinas.

A celebration of his life will be Monday Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. at his son’s home, 1111 Crescent Lane in Hollister.

Donations may be made to the family.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.
