Memorial services for Mr. Winfield Johnson will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 6:00 P.M. at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign, IL. Military and Masonic rites will be accorded.

Mr. Johnson was born in Brockton, MA. He married Norma Small on December 12, 1953 in Augusta, ME. She survives along with their 5 loving children; Caroline Johnson of Morgan Hill, Joseph Johnson of Santa Clara, Christopher Johnson of Sacramento, Everett Johnson of Keno, OR, Laura Mohrbacher of Champaign, IL, 9 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, Bradford Johnson of Scarborough, ME and one sister, Phyllis Shaeffer of Alliance, OH.

Mr. Johnson honorably served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist. He fought in 3 wars and retired in 1966. Upon retirement from the Navy, he worked at IBM for 21 years. After retiring from his second career, Mr. Johnson and his wife joined the Escapees RV Club and began traveling the United States together while visiting family and friends. Mr. Johnson was proud to belong to the Masons and to be a Cursillista. He was a 4-H leader for many years and also a volunteer fireman.
