Police in Monterey and San Benito counties will be watching for drivers who are drunk or high on drugs on game day as part of the “Avoid the 20” campaign.

While authorities say they will be out in force for Sunday’s Super Bowl, the “Avoid the 20” campaign is scheduled again for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.

The crackdown is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
