With a great deal of dismay and unbelief, I read,

San Benito Slamfest

by Mike Fitzgerald. To give every elected and appointed official
a demeaning name is not my philosophical viewpoint. To characterize
our elected officials and make fun of our county government seems
to be highly unprofessional and unbecoming for the executive editor
of our hometown newspaper.

Just one page over was a guest opinion that was really worth reading. This Richard Morris piece, “Growth Initiative not the solution for San Benito County,” offered creative approaches to the problem never before advanced and worthy of thoughtful consideration by all as it regards the welfare of all. This item should have been on the opinion page. The community would have been well served if Richard Morris’ Guest Opinion replaced Mike Fitzgerald’s Slamfest.
