James Paul Gilsenan, born on March 12, 1934, in Glasgow, Scotland, gently passed away November 30, 2012 at the age of 78, surrounded by his children. Lovingly known to many as “Scotty”, he was a quiet, caring man who lived an honorable life.

He held a tremendous passion for music. Scotty was an accomplished saxophonist who came to the U.S. in 1962 seeking the L.A. music scene, playing in several bands throughout his life.

In 1977, he settled with his family in San Juan Bautista, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

A devoted father and grandfather, he is survived by his children June (Roger) Gilsenan-Ely, Shawna (Scott) Freels, Bruce Gilsenan and step-son David (Corina) Worden, and his four grandchildren Tatiana Serna, Shayne Ely, Celeste Ely and Mathew Ely.
