William John Flodberg passed away March 16, 2009. He is survived by his wife Sheila; stepchildren Michael, Fran and Diane; and his sister Caryl of Santa Rosa. Preceded in death by his brother Ted and sister Phyllis.

Bill was a Watsonville native, where his father was the first mayor of that city. He graduated from UC Berkeley and taught for many years, primarily at Blue Ridge High School in Morgan Hill. Bill was an avid runner, organizing and directing many runs throughout the area. He was a board member of South Valley Symphony, organized the children’s violin program in Gilroy, member of Theater Angels, Member of the California Retired Teachers Association and an active volunteer for many events in the South County. In addition to music, Bill loved the out of doors. He led backpacking trips for Sierra Club and had backpacked throughout California and other western states.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 20th at Gilroy United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Valley Symphony or Sierra Club.
