Center in Vancouver, Wash. at the age of 54.
Robert Paul LeDuc died on Feb. 2 at the S. W. Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, Wash. at the age of 54.
Robert was born in Hollister in 1950. He attended Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School. He was drafted into the army at the age of 18 and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam, during which time he was awarded several medals for his handling of firearms and his marksmanship. After returning home he attended Gavilan College and studied computers. He married Bonnie Helms and had a step-daughter. Robert worked for many years in the computer industry until becoming sick in 1986. He later had a liver transplant at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, Ore. He fell in love with the area and chose to make his home in Vancouver, Wash. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and cook. He had many pets.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Herbert LeDuc and his brother Ray Le Duc.
He is survived by his mother Nettie Le Duc of Hollister, sister Michelle Canez (spouse Tim) of Hollister; and nephews Joshua Garcia, Austin Canez; nieces Madison Canez of Hollister; Felecia LeDuc and Nanette Le Duc of Gilroy; and a sister-in-law Vonceial LeDuc of Gilroy and many cousins.
Visitation will be held at the chapel of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home on Wednesday. Feb. 9 from noon until 8pm. Family and friends will leave the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10am for Sacred Heart Church for a Mass of The Resurrection beginning at 10:30am. Interment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Portland V. A. Hospital or the S. W. Washington Medical Center Organ Transplant Units c/o Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister
