Gene Newton Wilson passed away on Feb. 3 in Puyallup, Wash. at
the age of 72.

Born in Fort Riley, Kan., Gene had lived in the Sea Tac area near Seattle for 37 years. Hew was trucking supervisor at Boeing before retiring in 1993 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Burien Elks and Tacoma Sportsman Club. His hobbies include shooting, fishing and barbecuing. He married his wife, Norma Wennerberg, on Oct. 3 1959 in Seattle.

He is survived by his wife Norma Lee Wilson Spanaway; sons, Larry Nels Wilson of La Paz, Mexico, Ralph Newton of Auburn, Wash.; daughter Leslie Irene Hopkins, and Bonney Lake; brothers Alan Wilson of Mariposa, John Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas; Kenneth Wilson of Auburn; sisters Peggey Fagundes of Salinas, Patricia Birchmier of Gilroy, and Colleen Thomas of San Juan Bautista; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 7. A graveside service will held today in Washington. Memorials may be name in his name to U.W. Medicine Development Kidney Research Fund, 1325 4th Ave. Suite 2000, Seattle, Wa. 98101.
