Hollister resident
Velia G. Hernandez died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. She was 68.

Mrs. Hernandez was born in San Antonio, Texas. She came to Hollister from Arizona in 1967 and worked for San Benito Foods. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Teamsters Union Local 890.

She is survived by her children, Jose Hernandez, Rosendo Hernandez, Stella Hernandez and Lila Vasquez and her husband, Lupe, all of Hollister, Dolores Bustillos of Gilroy and Gilbert Hernandez of Redwood City; her sister, Minnie Palafox of Redwood City; her brothers, Rudy Garza of Hollister, Joe Garza of Casa Grande, Ariz and Jesse Garza of San Diego; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A memorial Mass will be offered Monday, Dec. 30 at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Arrangements and cremation are through

Helene M. Pattison died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002. She was 97.

Mrs. Pattison had lived in Hollister since 1962. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies Aid Society.

She is survived by her nieces, Helene Ellis of Cheyenne, Wyo., Maurine Solomon of Casper, Wyo. and Lillian Kelley of Oroville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Pat” Pattison in 1998, and by her son, Thomas Clifford Pattison in 1983.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.
