Albert Joseph Gonzales, age 90, of Pickford, Michigan, formerly of Hollister, California, died on September 29, 2016. He was born on March 12, 1926 in Merced, California to Amelio and Eufernia (Raybol) Gonzales.
Albert grew up in the Santa Clara Valley, California. After graduating from High School he joined the Army and served in Germany. After he was discharged from the army, he worked with his brother helping with the building of two large hangers at Moffitt Field near San Francisco. He then attended San Jose Tech School where he earned a Certificate in Machining. He worked for a company where they fabricated the Tea Cup and Jumbo rides at Disney Land. He went on to become a firefighter in Santa Clara, and retired in 1977, after twenty five years of service. During his time as a firefighter, he also did cement work. In June for several years, he set up fireworks stands in several of the small shopping c! enters inthe Santa Clara area and had all of the family working together. He then was a supervisor for Casa De Fruita and organized special events. One particular event, he met Patricia Logan Sincerbox at a RV Dance Park in 1985. They married on October 14, 1995 in Reno, Nevada. In 2002, they moved to the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
Albert was a member of the Shakers Car Club, in Hollister, California. During the Hollister Rodeo he organized the pig roast. Albert loved hunting deer in the Sierra Mountains and fishing when he had time. He was a great handy man, very resourceful and creative. He built his own green house for vegetables and began gardening flowers in Michigan.
Albert is survived by his wife, Patricia Gonzales of Pickford; daughters, Nancy (Ernie) Rose of Sparks, Nevada, Patricia Ann Gonzales of Pickford, and Sylvia Botelho of San Jose, California; sons, Stanley Gonzales of San Miguel, California, and Phillip Gonzales San Jose; grandchildren, Julie Rose, Ernie (Sarah)Rose Jr., Brian (Amber) Botelho, Frankie (Nicole) Botelho Jr., James (Victoria) Gonzales; 10 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Dorothy Gonzales of Hollister.
Albert is preceded in death by his twin sister, Lucy Alejandra; sister, Margaret Reg; and brothers, Henry Gonzales, Alfonso Gonzales, Hermon Gonzales.
