Andrew John Zorbas recently died in San Francisco at the age of 72.
He worked at the Salinas Valley Vegetable Exchange, then became business manager at Hopkins Marine Station in Pacific Grove. He later owned the Tamales Bay Oyster Company until he sold it in 1986.
Zorbas is survived by his wife, Martha Peterson Zorbas of Chico, Calif.; son John and Karen Zorbas of Chico, Calif.; sister Helen Zorbas of San Francisco; stepdaughters Sally Peterson of Pacific Grove and Patricia Peterson of Truckee, Calif.; and granddaughter Hannah Schiestel. He is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends.
Private entombment has been held. The Paul Mortuary in Pacific Grove was in charge of arrangements.
