August (Herb) Rehmus passed away in Hollister at the age of 93. He was born in Windside, Nebraska and lived in Hollister for 25 years. He married his wife, Louise, in 1985 in Nevada City, CA and served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII.
He was a member of The United Methodist Church, SIRS, served as a senior Assemblyman (senior issues), was active in Jovenes de Antano, worked for Square-D as a foreman and liked to make clocks out of china and wood.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Rehmus of Hollister, his children and their spouses, Michael Rehmus (Toni) of Vallejo, David Rehmus (Dee) of Sacramento, Glenn Henry (Sheyla) of Brazil and was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy O’Connor earlier this year. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends can pay their respects on Saturday, January 6, 2012 from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 noon at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Services will be on Jan. 6th at 1:00 P.M. at The United Methodist Church in Hollister with interment and military rites to follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
