Augustine Gomez, Jr. January 5, 1959 - January 12, 2012

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

My beloved husband Augustine Gomez Jr. fought the battle of his illness of Guillain-Barre Syndrome 2009-2012, he was called home peacefully at the age of 53. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Amparo Vaca Gomez and children Sally, Robert, Benny, Agripina (Pini), Bobby, Augustine III and Gabriela Gomez. He will forever be missed by his grandchildren; Richard Soto III, Antonio Soto, Jose Jeremiah Esquivel, Pricilla Hernandez, Elizabeth, Benny Jr., James, Destiny, and Christina Gomez; brothers and sisters: Beatrice Saavedra, Ronnie, Angelo, Pricilla, David Gomez , Martin Mejia Jr. Jarrod, Jeffery, Chris Gomez and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his fathers Augustine Gomez Sr. and Martin Mejia, his Mother Lina Sias, sister Vivian and Brother Frankie Gomez.

Augie was born in Gilroy Jan. 5, 1959, raised in Morgan Hill and attended Live Oak High School. He boxed with his brother Angelo for Gilroy boxing, was a cabinet maker for 30+ years, and he was a hard worker who always provided for his family till the very end. A hard core Forty Niner fan.

He enjoyed joking laughing with family and friends. He served the Lord at Foothills Four Square Church in Gilroy. He was the strongest man we knew, spoiled by his loving wife who cared for him till the end. His smile will be greatly missed by all of us.

A Celebration Service will be held at Foothills Foursquare Church in Gilroy at 6:00 P.M. on the 20th of January. A special thank you to Foothills ministry, Heartland Hospice, Teresa Gutierrez (Comadre), Pop Warner football, Sunrise Fire Department, family and friends who came forward in our time of need. We love you Dad.
