Authorities have released the identity of the Hollister woman killed in Saturday’s accident in the city.
Joan Lopez, 57, died due to the accident reported at 10 a.m. in the 100 block of San Felipe Road.
Sheriff’s Capt. Tony Lamonica on Monday confirmed the victim’s identity. The sheriff’s office acts as the county coroner, while the Hollister Police Department is investigating the accident.
Police released a statement noting that three vehicles were involved, but did not disclose many other details.
“The collision occurred near the intersection of Maple Street and San Felipe Road,” according to a statement from police. “The Hollister Police Department is in the process of investigating this collision. Witnesses to this collision that have not already been contacted are urged to contact the Hollister Police Department.”
All other drivers received minor or no injuries, according to police. Police pointed out in the statement they “would like to remind motorists to drive with due caution and slow down during inclement weather.”
