Betty Mathson Starritt passed away peacefully on Sept 18, 2011, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, William (Bill) Starritt Sr.,her loving children, Timer (Judy) Starrritt, Mark (Patricia) Starritt, and daughter, Susan(Kurt)Jacobsen; grandchildren; Jillian (Robert)DeForge, Rebecca Peterson, Yobie amd Markie Jacobsen, Jarad (Heather) DeRosa, Bruce DeRosa, Matthew(Jennifer)Starritt, Stephanie(Chris)Sanchez and Mark Starritt Jr.; great-grandchildren, Cynthia and Lauren(due in Oct) DeForge, Lauren and Paige DeRosa. As well as loving nieces, nephews and brother-in-law, Donald Robinson.

Betty is preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Starritt Peterson, her sister Patricia Robinson, brother William Lars(Ann) Mathson Jr, parents, Anna and William Lars Mathson. Betty was born in Stevenson, CA, raised in Watsonville, moved to Hollister as a newlywed in 1945 and then “temporarily” moved to Gilroy in 1963. Betty worked as the office manager in their real estate office for the past 40 years. Betty was devoted to caring for her family.

Betty and Bill’s marriage was a loving testimonial to their family and friends. Betty delighted in spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Betty will be dearly missed by both family and friends.

At her request, a private service will be held at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park in Watsonville on 9/29/2011.
