Carmen C. Bourdet died Monday morning at the age of 85 in San Jose after a sudden illness. She was a 29 year resident of Hollister and a member of the Children’s Home Society of Gilroy, now the Gilroy Assistance League, member of the San Benito County Cowbelles and the Republican Women of San Benito County. A homemaker all her life, she was very devoted to her vamily. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Carmen was preceeded in death by her husband, Louis E. Bourdet, who died in September of 2000. She is survived by her children, Lorraine MacKenzie of Sebastapol, Calif., John Bourdet and wife Tina of Hollister, DeeCee Donati and husband Bill of Hollister, and Jeff Bourdet of Hollister;  She was the grandmother of Shelley Donati of Hollister, Adam Donati and wife Amy of Napa, John Donati of Hollister, Shawn Bourdet and wife Audra of Hollister, Wyatt, Cody and Carson Bourdet all of Hollister, and Aimee Bourdet of Hollister. She is also the great grandmother of Garrett and Tucker Bourdet both of Hollister. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceeded in death by her three sisters Catherine and Maria Bidart, and Celina Gomez. A memorial services will be held Thursday morning, June 17th, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home. Contributions are preferred to either the Sacred Heart School Foundation, Visiting Nurses Assn. or the San Benito County Saddlehorse Assn. Museum. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory in Hollister.
