Catherine J. Zoch of Morgan Hill passed away on January 5th after a lengthy illness. She was 85 years old.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14th at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church in Morgan Hill at 3 P. M.

Catherine was born in Oneonta, New York, on November 5, 1921 to Blanche and Harold France. She had 3 siblings: William, Betty, and Alice. She attended school in Oneonta until graduating from high school. After graduation, she attended Potsdam Teacher’s College in Potsdam, New York, where she received her teacher’s credential.

In 1948, she married Alfred N. Zoch and they had 3 children: Linda, William, and Timothy. They moved to Morris, New York and both taught in the area until 1967 when they moved to Morgan Hill. Catherine was a teacher in the Morgan Hill School District until her retirement in 1987. Al taught at Heald’s Business College in San Jose. Upon their retirement, they traveled to various Elderhostels and Catherine enjoyed many hobbies, especially playing bridge, reading, shopping, gardening, and traveling.

Catherine is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tom of Arizona, a sister-in-law, Louise France of New York, a cousin, Anice Ellis of New York, a son and daughter-in-law, William and Lisa, two grandchildren, Renee and Timothy, all of Florida, a daughter, Linda, of Claremont, California, 25 nieces and nephews who live in California, Michigan, and New York, and many, many friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. We loved her.
