Ciro Marfia
December 14, 1919 – December, 16 2016
Ciro Marfia passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016 in Gilroy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia. Ciro is survived by his daughters, Joanie Lewis (Tom) and Shirley Marfia. He leaves behind his grandchildren Rick Lewis (Loreal), Randy Lewis (Annette), Gianna Gibson (Jeff) and Leianna Jeske. He also leaves behind 7 great-grand children, Anyssa, Jonathan, Alyssa, Liliana, Brianna, Anthony and Jacob. Also, a special thank you, for the loving care provided by his caregivers Loraine, Alexandria, Esmeralda and Stephanie. Ciro was born December 14, 1919 in Louisiana to Sicilian immigrants Anthony and Mary Marfia. He came to Morgan Hill with his family in 1920. In his younger years he was a proud well driller for a local company and worked at BG Manufacturing. He retired as a farmer at the age of 90. He farmed prunes, cherries, walnuts, peppers and grew beautiful fields of marigolds and zinnias for Ferry Morse Seed. He was a 4-H leader, a member of the Santa Clara County Farm Bureau and a longtime member of the Small Towners. Ciro enjoyed deer hunting, making tomato sauce, wine making, playing the slots and spending time with his family and friends. Pop will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.

Visitation: Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Mary Catholic Church at 7:00 PM. Entombment will be Friday, December 23, 2016 11:00 AM at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilroy. Family would appreciate donations to your favorite charity.
