 Long-time Morgan Hill resident and architect, passed away after a gallant battle with Parkinson’s disease. He led a full, creative and responsible life, loved and admired by many.
 During WWII, he served with the Army’s 1255th Engineers Combat Battalion in Europe. Towards the end of the war, he took glider training for an invasion of Japan, should the Japanese not surrender.
 After the war, David continued his education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, became a 2nd lieutenant in the Army reserve, and earned his BA degree in architecture.
 He moved to New Jersey after finding employment with the Texas Company ( Texaco ) in the engineering department located across the river in New York City’s Chrysler Building. Here, he met his future wife, Hilde, on a company boat ride on the Hudson River.
 Several years later with their toddler son, David, they drove to San Jose, CA. David attended classes at U.C. Berkeley, took the California architecture exam, and received his CA license.
 After his second son, Glenn, was born, the family moved to Morgan Hill in 1958.
 David spent over 50 years designing buildings, incudling,several churches. A favorite design was the St. John Divine Church on Peak Avenue.
 David is survived by his wife, Hilde, two sons, David and Glenn, daughter-in-law, Dawn, grandson, Dima, and sister, Jean, of Peoria, IL.
