David Wayne Robeson of Dave’s Famous Tomatoes passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. David was a resident of Morgan Hill, a 1959 graduate of Live Oak High School and attended San Benito College.

 He was an exceptionally talented athlete excelling in baseball and basketball. David served his country by enrolling in the National Guard in 1964. He was retired from the grocery business after 35 dedicated years. His first job while in college was at Madrone Market. He moved on to Nob Hill, Alpha Beta and finally retired from Lucky Supermarket.

 David is survived by Bonnie, his loving wife of 47 years. He is also survived by his children David Robeson Jr (Dena), Kimberly Beltramo (John), Tara Corona (Jimmy), and Douglas Robeson (Kristine). His grandchildren, Devon, Tyler, Ashley, Matthew, Nicholas, Anthony, Payton, Isabella, Dylan, Lily, William and his is great-granddaughter Delaney.

 David found joy at home with his family growing his heirloom tomatoes. Tomato season was his favorite time of year. He loved sharing tomato recipes and gardening advice with his customers while listening to the San Francisco Giants on the radio. He always said he didn’t need a television, He would rather “watch it” on the radio.

 David will be missed dearly and remembered as an amazingly generous man. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heartland Hospice would be appreciated.

 Services will be held Monday, May 7th, 2012, at the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.
