Dolores Clawson, resident of Morgan Hill, CA died peacefully at home on December 6, 2011, with her daughter Susan at her bedside.

Dolores was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Minneapolis where she graduated from South High in 1942. She and her family moved to California shortly after and she worked in San Francisco during World War II.

In 1945 she married John Dickinson and had two daughters, Lois and Susan. They lived in Palo Alto, CA for several years before moving to Sunnyvale living there for 30 years. Dolores worked for GTE Government Systems as an editor and production manager on classified reports for the government. During this time John Dickinson operated a canvas fabrication company for home and industry use in Mountain View and Dolores operated a ski equipment rental service from the store. John passed away in 1996.

In October 1997, Dolores married Don Clawson after the death of his first wife, Margaret Lois Clawson in early 1997. Dolores and Don purchased a fifth wheel RV and new Ford Diesel pickup truck and traveled extensively making two major trips a year, in the spring and fall for about 10 years. When she moved to Morgan Hill she joined the New Comer’s Club and a tap dancing class and gained a whole new life of friends that lasted until her death.

Since Don is a retired Air Force Officer, Dolores will be interned at the San Juaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CAon December 13, 2011.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Don Clawson, her twin sister Dorothy Bussman, daughters, Lois Aswell and Susan Romanos, grandchildren, Amy Aswell, Jill Romanos and John Romanos and son-in-law, Charles Aswell.

A private Remembrance gathering will be held in January.
