Don Hooper was a man who loved life and loved people. He was born in Hollister, in 1930. He attended the local schools.
After graduation, he went to work for his dad in the painting business. In 1975, he took over his father’s business, Hollister Paint Company. He loved what he did so much that after he turned his job over to his grandson, Lance, he continued to consult with him about jobs. They learned much from each other.
He had so many passions with his wife in life, including history, fishing, camping, their motor home, traveling, his animals, entertaining, shopping, old cars, his family and friends.
He loved In-N-Out Burger and driving around in his little red convertible.
He is one of the last few men that would still seal a deal with a hand shake.
“Anyone who knew Don, knew he was a kind, and gentle man, a caring and Christian man. They don’t make them like that anymore”, said his family.
Don has two daughters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Don’s wife, Judy has five children, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Together, they had a big, beautiful family!
