 Dorrie Ann (Weiss) Ward died on April 22, 2014 after a 14 year battle with breast cancer at her home in San Luis Obispo. She lived life to it’s fullest, never complaining about her illness, and was surrounded by her family and close friends when she passed.
 Dorrie was born in Fresno, California on December 19, 1950, the eldest of seven, to Burruss E. Weiss and Donna J. (Perrott) Weiss.
 Dorrie graduated from San Jose City College with a degree in nursing. She worked as a dedicated nurse in the ICU for 30 years at various hospitals.
 Dorrie married John R. Adams in December of 1969 and had a son and a daughter. She later married Patrick J Ward on August 1, 1987 and had two sons.
 Dorrie was an unconditionally loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Those who know Dorrie would attest to her kindness and effortless ability at making conversation with anyone who crosse! d her path.
 Dorrie cherished her work as a nurse, cooking for her family, visiting relatives, travel, movies, and interacting with her loved ones. She was patient, kind, compassionate, and always thought of others first.
 Dorrie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Patrick; three children, Jancilyn (Adams) Pettitt (Aaron); Matthew Ward; and Michael Ward; two grandchildren, Jacob and Autumn Pettitt; her parents, Donna and Burruss Weiss; and five siblings, Eric Weiss; Larry Weiss; Harry Weiss; Lindy Wisotsky; and Sarah Jane Weiss.
 Dorrie was preceded in death by her eldest son, Jacob Adams, and her brother, Brian Weiss.
