As part of the “Avoid the 20” campaign, the California Highway Patrol is conducting a DUI checkpoint Saturday night in the Hollister area.
Although the location and time will not be announced, the CHP noted there is a goal of targeting drinkers at the Northern California Renaissance Faire at Casa de Fruta.
The California Office of Traffic Safety funds Avoid the 20 through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Officers from CHP offices in the Gilroy-Hollister area and Salinas will staff the checkpoint, according to the CHP.Â
