Edward Enos Moura, age 92 entered into rest April 29, 2013, in Hollister, CA. He was born on February 27, 1921 in Ripon, CA.
He was drafted into the US Army serving as a rifleman under General Patton in WWII where he received a Purple Heart. He worked for PG & E as a truck driver and eventually retired as a heavy equipment operator after 35 years.
Ed spent many years in Alameda County before retiring in Hollister.
Ed or “Papa Ed” was a character, always smiling and cracking jokes. He loved to make people laugh. Ed was also very social and continued to belong to several organizations up into his 90s including: Friends 4 Ever Tours, Hollister Elks Lodge, Italian Catholic Federation, PSEA and SIRS, of Hollister. Ed also enjoyed going out to eat to different restaurants and seeing the “locals” at the coffee shop and Jerry’s.
One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his granddaughter, Chantel, and their four pets. They shared lots of laughs and adventures together.
Ed is survived by his children: Allan and Jan Moura of Newark, CA; Mark and Betsy Moura of Broomfield, CO; Debbie Moura of Sellersburg, IN; Frank and Judy Arzie of Hollister, CA; Larry Arzie of Los Gatos, CA; George Howard of Durant, OK. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Chantel Howard of Hollister, CA; Jeremy Moura of Sunnyvale, CA; Shawna Moura of Broomfield, CO; Alicia Kelley, Vinny Oliveri, and Joey Kelley of North Point, FL.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mrs. Mary Moura, also of Hollister who passed away in 2001 and his son, Jonathan Moura of Hayward, CA.
