Eileen was born in Lompoc, CA, on April 28, 1960, to Martin William and Mary Anne Washburn (nee Healy), a lovely Irish lass. Eileen passed away last Monday at the age of 52, having been preceded in death by her mother in July of this year.
Eileen leaves behind her father, Bill, who very much enjoyed spending a great deal of time with her since his wife passed away a couple of months ago. Also remaining earthbound are four siblings, Michael of Seattle, WA, Kathleen Stoody of Ramona, CA., Mark Washburn of San Jose, Costa Rica, and Darlene Sipes of Spokane, WA. In addition, left behind are a dozen nieces and nephews, Rick, Rob, Cara, Alyssa, Austin, Colton, Collin and Justin Stoody; Casey, Vincent and Nicole Washburn; and Madison, Hanna and Audrey Sipes.
Eileen graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA in 1978 and from Evergreen College as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1992 after attending three years at Point Loma University in San Diego, CA.
Eileen was the wife of Morgan Hill’s mayor, Dennis Kennedy, for nine years starting in 1998.
Most of her nursing career was spent working for Kaiser Permanente in San Jose. She was also an accomplished guitar player. However, most of her friends will remember her because of her great sense of humor.
Eileen was a great source of inspiration and support for her family and enjoyed travelling internationally with her father, Bill.
We are all at peace knowing that she is now once again enjoying the company of her mother who she missed very much since her mother made the transition to heaven in July. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
A visitation will take place on Friday, September 14, 2012, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey St., Morgan Hill, CA.
